Note to faculty: We have tried to accurately reflect your faculty position in your profile. However, if you think you should be token eligible based on the below and your profile does not indicate that you have one, please email us and we will update your token status. Likewise, if your profile indicates you have a token (and you are not actually eligible), please know your project will not be approved.


School of Architecture

Eligibility

  • Tenured and tenure-track faculty
  • General faculty
  • Research staff

College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences

Eligibility

  • Tenured and tenure-track faculty

Additional requirements

  • $60,000 project: The project should produce a deliverable, such as a grant proposal, award submission or other tangible project as appropriate to the discipline, such as a peer-reviewed paper or a curation for the arts.
  • $15,000 project: The project should produce a report on the outcomes, along with a clear statement of each participant’s contributions and the next steps to develop the project.

Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy

Eligibility

Non-adjunct faculty in the following classifications:

  • Tenured and tenure-track faculty
  • General faculty

McIntire School of Commerce

Eligibility

  • Tenured and tenure-track faculty
  • Research faculty

Darden School of Business

Eligibility

  • Tenured and tenure-track faculty

School of Data Science

Eligibility

  • Faculty whose primary appointment is in the School of Data Science.

School of Education and Human Development

Eligibility

  • Participants must be at least 85% full-time equivalent (FTE) employed at UVA in one of the following roles: tenured and tenure-track faculty, or general faculty (Non-Tenure Track/teaching or research).

Additional requirements

  • The School has also determined that applicants who would be first-time 3C recipients and those who are partnering with researchers outside of the School of Education &Human Development will receive priority, as these efforts will expand the reach and scope of the 3C program and maximize the School’s investment in the program. 

  • Projects must submit a proposal for external funding as an outcome of the project.

School of Engineering and Applied Science

Eligibility

  • All Academic General Faculty and Tenure/Tenure Track faculty, except those who received a 3Cavs or an Engineering Research Innovation seed award in the previous funding round. 

School of Law

Eligibility

  • Tenured and tenure-track faculty

Additional requirements

  • School-level funding may utilize faculty research and RA funds. Please contact the Vice Dean for details.

School of Medicine

Eligibility

  • Tenured and tenure-track faculty

School of Nursing

Eligibility

  • Tenured and tenure-track faculty
  • General-track faculty who are at least 75% full-time equivalent (FTE)

    Additional requirements

    • Proposals must be in alignment with one of the School's Areas of Excellence.
    • Projects must submit a proposal for external funding as an outcome of the project.

    UVA Office of the Provost

    Eligibility

    • All faculty in the Office of the Provost except those with the rank of lecturer.
    • Miller Center faculty in the Office of the President are also eligible.

    UVA Library

    Eligibility

    • UVA Library staff with faculty status and research staff.

    UVA College at Wise

    Eligibility

    • Tenured and tenure-track faculty.

    Additional requirements

    • Priority will be given to projects involving collaboration with other UVA Schools.
